Edinburgh Aid which was to transport the aid by truck into Hamas-controlled Gaza has now been told it must be unpacked and taken by air to Tel Aviv, said organiser Glasgow MSP Pauline McNeill.
The truck has idled in Edinburgh for more than two weeks as the organisers faced frustrating obstructions from the Israeli authorities. Organisers have constantly liaised with the Palestinian Embassy in London to find a way to get the aid into Gaza somehow.
Ms McNeill said: "The past weeks have been very frustrating. All we want to do is get these medical supplies to people who are seriously ill and who will die without medical help. more
