Now Met police chief Stephenson shows 'concern' on Tomlinson killing - that's nice

We've been waiting to hear from these two. So now Stephenson says the video 'concerns' him - although not for the same reason it concerns most fair-minded people - and he wants an inquiry. No explanation for the lies told by the police.

Still no condolences to the family from the nauseating Smith. Nothing, of course, about a full public inquiry or whether the case should be passed straight to the Crown Prosecution Service with a view to a trial of police officers.

Anyone want to open the betting on how long the commissioner and home secretary are going to last? Suspect we'll have to keep up the pressure to guarantee seeing the back of them sooner rather than later.

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson said the force fully supported an inquiry into the death.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC), which is carrying out the inquiry, will examine the video footage showing Mr Tomlinson being pushed to the ground.

Sir Paul said: "The images that have now been released raise obvious concerns and it is absolutely right and proper that there is a full investigation into this matter, which the Met will fully support.

On 16 June, 35 Palestinian workers at Salit Quarries in Mishor Adumim (in area C, east of Jerusalem, in the Occupied West Bank) began a strike.
