Ambassador Atta al-Mannan Bakheet, Assistant Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs at the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), stated that an aid convoy, containing 40 aid trucks, would be heading to the Gaza Strip on Wednesday.
In a statement released on Tuesday by the OIC, based in Saudi Arabia, Al Mannan stated that this is the third aid convoy sent by the OIC to Gaza, and added that this convoy is the largest as it includes 40 trucks filled with aid supplies.
Al Mannan further said that the Governor of Jidda in Saudi Arabia, Prince Majid Bin Abdul-Aziz, will represent Prince Faisal, the Emir of Mecca, in the official ceremony of launching the convoy.
250 figures, and human rights organizations, would be participating in the ceremony.
The convoy would head to the Logistic Coordination in Al Arish area in Egypt before crossing the borders into the besieged and impoverished Gaza Strip.
