GAZA, (PIC)-- The government committee against the siege has called for an international campaign to open the Rafah border terminal between Egypt and the Gaza Strip to end the Palestinian suffering.
The committee in a statement on Wednesday asked the Egyptian government to open the terminal officially and permanently before the Palestinians to restore their normal life and to allow entry of the people's daily needs.
Adel Zurub, the committee's spokesman, said that the campaign would coincide with the growing tragic conditions in the Strip as one and a half million Palestinians are experiencing harsh living conditions because of the continued closure of all crossings.
He urged all concerned to pressure for the opening of Rafah terminal and to help the Palestinians travel without any further obstacles.
The continued closure of the main Gaza crossings is a humanitarian disaster, Zurub said, and appealed to the legal and international institutions to pressure Israel into opening the Gaza crossings to enable the Gaza inhabitants to travel freely especially the sick, students and other humanitarian cases.
