Supreme Court's Beinish calls for Gaza war inquiry

Israel's supreme court president, Dorit Beinish, is calling for an investigation into the Gaza war in response to rising pressure following the Goldstone report .

"I believe Israel has nothing to fear from a commission of verification ... Israel is strong enough not to be afraid of such a verification," Beinish said in a speech in Jerusalem.

"I believe it will turn out that many things have been exaggerated, but to be certain we must verify."

Israel temporarily opens two Gaza crossings

According to Maan news agency Israel has partially opened the Kerem Shalom and Karni crossings, allowing in 85 trucks.
Gaza's Kerem Shalom and Karni crossings will open partially Tuesday, allowing the delivery of humanitarian aid and commercial goods into the besieged Gaza Strip, as well as limited exports of flowers and strawberries, officials said. more
