GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- A group of youth activists in the Gaza Strip said Saturday they will start a hunger strike to support Islamic Jihad detainee Khader Adnan.
Adnan is being held in Israeli jail without charge, and has refused food for 49 days to protest his treatment.
The Gaza activists announced their strike at a press conference organized by the Soul of Jerusalem Martyrs and Prisoners organization outside the Gaza office on the International Committee of the Red Crescent.
They pledged to follow the strike with other solidarity actions according to Adnan's situation.
Meanwhile, DFLP politburo member Saleh Nasser said he supported Adnan's "heroic battle against the Israeli occupation's inhumane and racist policies." more
