Two Palestinians injured by Isaeli army fire in northern Gaza

Palestinian medical sources reported on Tuesday evening [August 20, 2013] that two young Palestinian men have been shot and injured by Israeli military fire east of Jabalia town, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. The sources said that the two, 18 and 19 years of age, were moved to the Kamal Adwan Hospital, suffered moderate injuries, after being shot in the legs. The latest attack is another violation to the ceasefire agreement, mediated by Egypt and a number of international countries, between Israel and the resistance in Gaza. On Tuesday evening [August 13, 2013], Palestinian medical sources have reported that three fishermen have been detained, and violently attacked by Israeli soldiers, in Palestinian territorial waters, resulting in moderate injuries. more

Medics: 1 hurt by Israeli fire near Jabaliya

GAZA CITY (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces opened fire and injured a Palestinian man east of Jabaliya on Thursday, medics said. Wahid al-Fasis, 20, was shot in the Tal Abu Safayeh area and transferred to Awdeh hospital, medics said. An Israeli army spokesman did not immediately return calls. Earlier Israeli military vehicles crossed near the al-Qarara town northeast of Khan Younis on Thursday in a new breach of the Gaza ceasefire, a Ma’an reporter said. Two military bulldozers crossed 200 meters inside agriculture lands but did not open fire. An army spokesman confirmed "routine IDF activity" in the area. On Wednesday Israeli forces shot and injured seven Palestinians near the border in the central Gaza Strip, medics said. more

Four-year-old child and youth wounded as Israel attacks across Gaza

Palestinian medical sources in the Gaza Strip reported that a Palestinian child and a young man were wounded on Friday at dawn, when the Israeli Air Force bombarded a number of areas in the coastal region. The Palestinian News and Info Agency, WAFA, reported that an Israeli “Apache” chopper fired at least one missile at a residential area west of Beit Lahia, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, causing damage to a number of homes, also wounding a resident in his twenties, and a 4-year-old child identified as Hayat Taha. The two were moved to Kamal Odwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, suffering mild-to-moderate injuries, WAFA reported. Furthermore, F-16 Israeli jets carried out two airstrikes targeting Jabalia city, and Jabalia An-Nazla, in northern Gaza; damage was reported, and a warehouse caught fire in Jabalia An-Nazla. Witnesses: Israel military vehicles enter Gaza

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israeli military vehicles entered the northern Gaza Strip on Tuesday morning, with witnesses reporting heavy gunfire in the area. Forces accompanied bulldozers around 300 meters inside the border near Jabalia to raze lands in the area, witnesses told Ma'an. No casualties were reported. more

Explosive device detonated near Gaza police station, no casualties reported

GAZA CITY ( Ma’an ) -- An explosive device detonated Friday near a Palestinian police station, officials said. Police in Gaza opened an investigation into the explosion next to a street vender's stand in Deir Al-Balah, authorities said. Late last month, an explosive charge blew off the front of a mini market in central Jabaliya refugee camp, causing extensive damage to the store and nearby residences. Security forces said they were investigating. more

Islamic Jihad fighter dies in Gaza tunnel collapse as infiltration mission fails

GAZA CITY, Palestinian Territories — An Islamic Jihad militant was killed Thursday when a tunnel he was digging to attack Israeli troops collapsed in the northern Gaza Strip, the group said. "An Al-Quds Brigade member was martyred when a resistance tunnel collapsed," Islamic Jihad said in a statement, referring to its military wing. It said the collapse was accidental and occurred near Jabaliya in the northern Gaza Strip. more

IDF kills four Palestinian fighters, launches more airstrikes

The Israeli killing spree continues. This time four members of the 'marine unit' of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades (Fatah aligned) have been killed while on a training mission. The killings were followed by air strikes in Jabaliya and near Erez, according to Maan news agency . The news follows the deaths of three Palestinians last week following an IDF incursion.
