Rafah crossing reopens after two-day closure by Egypt

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- The Rafah border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip will reopen Sunday after a two-day closure, crossings director Ayyoub Abu Shaar said.

Abu Shaar told Ma'an that patients and people who reside in Egypt would be given priority to leave the Gaza Strip and those who had been listed to depart on July 19 would be allowed to travel Sunday.

The terminal is closed every Friday. It was also closed Saturday because of a public holiday marking the 59th anniversary of the July 23 revolution of 1952. more
