Protests continue against PA detentions in Nablus camp

NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Demonstrators burned tires at a Nablus refugee camp on Monday in protest against the Palestinian Authority's continued detention of Fatah members.

At Balata camp, protesters accused the PA of escalating measures against Fatah gunmen who gave themselves in to PA security services on Thursday.

PLC deputies Jamal Hwail and Jihad Tamliyeh have requested permission to visit the detainees and Junaid prison in Nablus, but PA security forces have not yet responded to the request, and the detainees' mobile phones have been confiscated.

Sources in the camp told Ma'an that efforts were underway to contain the crisis, particularly by those who were involved in the surrender of the Fatah members. more
