Palestinian stabs passengers on Tel Aviv bus

A Palestinian wounded at least five passengers in a stabbing rampage on a Tel Aviv bus on Wednesday, before being shot by a passing prison officer, Israeli police said.

The attacker struck in the morning rush hour in the heart of Israel's largest city, police spokeswoman Luba Samri said.

Five people were moderately to seriously wounded, while four were lightly injured, she said, citing emergency services at the scene.

Israel's Ynet news site put the number of injured at 17.

It was not immediately clear if all the casualties had been stabbed or if they included some suffering from shock. more

Egyptians continue to keep Gaza's only exit closed

GAZA CITY (Ma’an) – The Gaza Strip’s only exit to the outside world, the Rafah crossing between Egypt and the enclave, was shut down for the second consecutive day on Saturday. Sources at the terminal confirmed to Ma’an that the crossing point was still closed. On Friday, Palestinian official Mahir Abu Sabha said that Egyptian officials at the site informed the Palestinian side it would remain closed until further notice. more

On 16 June, 35 Palestinian workers at Salit Quarries in Mishor Adumim (in area C, east of Jerusalem, in the Occupied West Bank) began a strike.
