Palestinian shot, killed near Hebron after allegedly stabbing Israeli

A Palestinian suspect was shot and killed after stabbing an Israeli in Hebron on Monday, Israel's army and media reported.

An Israeli army spokesperson said a Palestinian stabbed an Israeli in the neck near Beit Einun junction north of Hebron and was shot and killed at the scene.

The Israeli, who is reportedly 19-years-old, was taken for medical treatment at the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem with serious injuries.

Israel's army could not confirm whether the Israeli victim was a soldier or a settler, after conflicting reports in Hebrew-language media.

Locals identified the Palestinian man as Raed Saket Abdul-Rahim Jaradat, 22, from the town of Sair. He was reportedly a student at Al-Quds University.

A day earlier, Israeli border police shot and killed a 17-year-old Palestinian girl near the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, Palestinian and Israeli sources said.

The girl was identified as Dania Irsheid, 17, from central Hebron. more
