A Palestinian was shot and injured on Wednesday at the al-Fawwar junction south of the occupied West Bank city of Hebron after reportedly stabbing an Israeli, the Israeli army said.
An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an that the army received “initial reports that a stabbing occurred” at the junction, leaving one Israeli wounded. Israel's army said the Palestinian suspect had been shot on scene and was detained.
He was identified to Ma'an as Muhammad Ismail Shubaki, 19, a student at the Palestine Technical College near al-Arrub refugee camp.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health told Ma’an that the Palestinian shot on scene was evacuated to Hadassah hospital in Jerusalem in critical condition.
Israeli emergency service Magen David Adom said the Israeli, 20, was left in severe condition and transferred to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem Six Palestinians and two Israelis have been killed during reported attacks since Sunday.
Four of those killed were Palestinians that were 16 years of age.
