Palestinian shot, injured after allegedly stabbing Israeli woman


A Palestinian was shot and injured on Monday in the southern occupied West Bank district of Bethlehem, following an alleged stabbing attack which left one Israeli in serious condition, an Israeli army spokesperson told Ma'an.

An Israeli army spokesperson said a "terrorist" broke into a building in the illegal Israeli settlement of Tekoa and stabbed a 30-year-old Israeli woman, before being shot and injured by "security personnel" on the scene.

Both of the injured have been evacuated to the hospital.

Initial reports indicated that the attacker was shot and killed, but Israeli army and medics have now reported that the attacker was shot and seriously wounded. A spokesperson with Israel's emergency medical service, Magen David Adom, said the Israeli who was stabbed and injured is a pregnant women in "moderate to severe" condition.

The Palestinian shot and injured has yet to be identified.
