Israeli soldiers shoot and injure Palestinian youth on border

In what seems to be the first Israeli violation of the truce that came into effect Thursday, Israeli soldiers shot and injured a young Palestinian man near the border fence, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Local sources reported that Haitham Abu Doqqa, 23, was shot and injured as he, and two other residents, approached the security fence, east of Al-Faraheen area, in Abasan Al-Kabeera town, in Khan Younis.

Several youths approached the border area to collect the parts of an Israeli military vehicle that was targeted by the resistance in Gaza more than a week ago.

Some youths managed to raise Palestinian flags on the border fence before t he army opened fire on them. more

Egyptians continue to keep Gaza's only exit closed

GAZA CITY (Ma’an) – The Gaza Strip’s only exit to the outside world, the Rafah crossing between Egypt and the enclave, was shut down for the second consecutive day on Saturday. Sources at the terminal confirmed to Ma’an that the crossing point was still closed. On Friday, Palestinian official Mahir Abu Sabha said that Egyptian officials at the site informed the Palestinian side it would remain closed until further notice. more
